James Weidel, PhD, FNP-BC, PMHMP-BC - Treasurer

James holds a PhD in nursing and health studies from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL, a masters in family nurse practitioner from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, a post-masters certificate in psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from D’Youville University in Buffalo, NY. He is an active member of the Association of Nurse Practitioners. He holds an adjunct professor position at Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Florida International University. James has worked with the pediatric and adult populations in residential and outpatient settings for over 20 years. James was raised in the Hudson Valley/Catskill region, and after some time away, has returned. His primary area of specialty is medication management and cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic approaches in individuals with impulsivity and attention disorders, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and autism. He currently practices independently in Hudson Valley as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. He serves on the finance committee and on the board of directors for Nurses House.
