Joseph Boney, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, PMH-BC

Joseph Boney, MSN, RN, is a nursing lecturer at Rutgers University, School of Nursing, Entry into Practice Division, Newark, New Jersey. Joe has achieved certification as both a Nurse Executive, Advanced and Psychiatric-Mental Health nurse through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. His areas of expertise include nursing leadership and psychiatric nursing. He currently serves on the board of the New Jersey Association of Directors of Nursing Administration/LTC and is President of the board of St. Andrew’s Convalescent Hospital, Mendham New Jersey.  Joe has worked in many different areas of nursing including both acute and long-term care, pediatric AIDS and nursing education.

He maintains membership in the National League for Nursing (NLN) and the New Jersey League for Nurses (NJLN). A frequent presenter at the NJLN annual convention, his poster presentations include, Workplace Violence, the epidemic for Nurses: Implications for safe practice. Violence is not part of the job. (ANA,2021), Understanding the Transgender Patient: Implications for care, and Suicide Among Nurses: Underlying Causes and Strategies for Prevention.

Joe is also a licensed massage therapist, interested in medical massage and the use of complementary and integrative therapies to treat and enhance both physical and psychiatric conditions. Joe resides in Staten Island, New York.
