Ann Tahaney, RN - Director

Ann Tahaney, RN, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, graduated from St. John’s Queens Hospital School of Nursing in 1968. She worked on a surgical floor and in the Emergency Department at St. John’s for a little more than 3 years. In 1971, she moved to Suffolk County. Afterward, she worked at Massapequa General Hospital in the ED and the ICU until 1989. In 1988 she started working at Syosset Hospital in the Emergency Department. In 1993 she became the Assistant Head Nurse of the Emergency Department until 2001 when ICU Assistant Head Nurse was added to her ED duties. 2011 saw her move to Radiology. In 2020 she transitioned from full time to per diem.

She is an active member of ANA-NY, PNASC and NYSNA and has served on their board of directors. She is a divorced mother of two girls and has one granddaughter and one grandson. She likes to travel and loves to read. She’s happy to be on the Board of Nurses House and hopes to continue serving for a long time.
